Kian “Ken” Sebuguero from the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) was named as one of the newly accredited Moonton Student Leaders (MSL) in Holy Angel University (HAU), as announced by Valiant Esport’s official Facebook page, last August 16.
Moonton Student Leaders Philippines is an affiliate program of the creators of the famous multiplayer online battle arena Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).
According to the official website of MSL Philippines, the program carefully chooses students who excel academically and undergo training to promote MLBB events both offline and online.
The accreditation process was done through sequential assessments by student leader supporters of MLBB. To test the applicant’s willingness and commitment, correspondents conduct an initial screening and an evaluation through practical examinations.
Sebuguero, a second-year BSBA major in Marketing student, voiced the role of MSLs, “Generally, MSLs manage school communities interested in playing MLBB. At the same time, we encourage them to balance their academic performance by providing events to them that have in-game rewards and diamonds.”
“This will give the students a chance to have fun by showing their skills to others and also maintain a good academic performance if we can maintain the community active,” he added.
Alongside Sebuguero, MSL Philippines also named Gian “geeLoki ” Gozun from the School of Computing (SOC) as a newly accredited leader.
Currently, both Angelites are in the final stage of the accreditation appraisal, whose task is to gather HAU students in a Facebook group — aiming to organize a school-wide MLBB Tournament eventually.
The students independently signed up for the MSL position and are not officially affiliated with Valiant Esports. Thereupon, interested students can apply on the MSL Philippines official website.
Moonton Student Leaders PH was founded in October 2020, and established by Moonton Philippines to further healthy and balanced gaming without affecting academics. The program has reached 72 campuses throughout the Philippines.
