House of Spades sealed their cards as the overall champion during the SBA DAYS 2022

After more than two weeks of a blended run, the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), with the initiative of the College Student Council (CSC-SBA), successfully reclaimed the face-to face closing celebration, at Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) Gymnasium, Holy Angel University (HAU), on October 27.

With the theme “WANDERLOST: ENTRY INTO THE UNKNOWN,” the event composed of different competitions, ranging from academic contests, music and arts, sports, E-Sports, and the much awaited Mr. and Ms. SBA, ran from October 14 to October 27.

Before the battle began, the participants were divided into four houses: House of Spades (freshmen), House of Diamonds (sophomores), House of Clubs (juniors), and House of Hearts (seniors).

The major events consisted of the debate competition, group dance, solo dance, video campaign, duet singing, and the battle of the bands.

Under the debate competition, the House of Clubs dominated the event, which included Merle Louise L. Carbon, Carlos Miguel R. Macabali, Princess Yvan Q. Malig, Christian Rhic Q. Real, and Matthew Ryle M. Mallari. Meanwhile, the House of Diamonds claimed first runner-up, consisting of Excel John B. Esguerra, Gia Marie P. Mayangao, Angel Kim R. Santiago, Joshua Sapra, and Jerico P. Dungca. The House of Spades bagged the third runner-up, with Ralph Denzel Pamintuan, Godwin C. Pring, Mike Reniel B. Quioc, and Joaquin Raphael S. Villareal.

For the Best Dance Crew competition, the House of Diamonds clinched the top, which included Arabela Mari G. Alipio, Rebekah R. Ogalesco, Bianca A. Garcia, Angelica D. Fugaban, Alcy Lorraine L. Hicban, Gerline G. Lozada, China Mae D. Leongson, and Zaira Mae Espinosa. The House of Clubs snatched first runner-up, with Michaela Franchelle C. Castro, Gemmaine C. Dela Cruz, Cherie A. Domingo, Precious P.  Eugenio, Denie M. Manalili, Neftali S. Martinez, Thomas Marty A. Portuguez, Kathryn B. Pacheco, Divine N. Ramos, Micaela T. Santos, Rica D. Tuaño, Chelsea R. Yuzon, Eliza Jayne P. Vizconde, and Niña Mea G. Macta. In addition, Hesedlyn M. Nakpil, Danica Marie D. Landayan, Euan Janry D. Galang, Patricia Kyla B. Manigbas, Laurence Ian C. Fernandez, Cris Ian M. Babadilla, Franz Miguel Parungao, Danica C. Garcia, Jhanine Angelica M. Canda, Enybelt Josh M.Rodriguez, and Beatriz Allyssa D. Garcia, from the House of Spades, came second runner-up.

Under the Solo Dancing competition, Angelo Miguel Salas from the House of Clubs was declared as the champion. The first and second runners-up were both members of the House of Spades: Franz Miguel Parungao and Danielle Naomi S. Gutierrez, respectively.

Meanwhile, William D. Lagman Jr. of the House of Hearts commanded the Video Campaign Competition. The House of Diamonds, including Nheidine Lee N. Caliwag, Clenza Z. Cunanan, Denzel Mika N. Dungca, Bless P. Galang, Lean Jeximus A. Lansangan, Kharen Mae J. Padian, and Patrick James D. Torres, took first runner-up. The House of Clubs, comprised of Betina R. Aquino, Jelenah V. Galang, Jaylie Ranza M. Ibay, Iran France G. Malonzo, Jeremy Matthew P. Miranda, Robertson G. Torres, and Shaniah Therese P. Tuazon, claimed second runner-up in the aforementioned category.

For the Duet Singing category, Jan Adriel Dela Cruz and Cleo Maurish T. Enriquez from the House of Diamonds took the gold spot. Crislyn C. Gacias and Jamico A. Santos from the House of Hearts came in first runner-up, and Maria Erica B. Diroy and Kyla Francesca D. Elarmo from the House of Clubs took second runner-up.

Further, Daniel G. Bansil (Keyboardist), Nathaniel Asher C. Mendoza (Bassist), Luciane Gello M. Roque (Lead Guitarist), Ernest Joshua M. Suing (Drummer), Justin Louis N. Tiopengco (Acoustic guitarist), and Abigail S. Vergara (Vocalist) from the House of Spades hailed as the champion for the Battle of the Bands competition. Meanwhile, the House of Clubs, which is composed of Francheska Yzrael Forto (Drummer), Gabriel V. Nicdao (Lead Guitarist), Ivert Kelly D.Simbulan (Vocalist/Rhythm), Alexis Carlo M.Tadeo (Vocalist/Rhythm), and Frances Pauline M.Vitug (Bassist) bagged the first runner-up. Romelyn L. Belinario (Drummer), Justine Angelo M. Fernandez (Guitarist), Duke D. Mamba (Bassist), Justin Jeremy Musni (Guitarist), and Thea Faye C. Valencia (Vocalist) from the House of Diamonds were ranked as the second runner-up.

For the last competition held for the SBA days, Tophe Balingit from the House of Hearts and Daerein Gonzales of the House of Spades secured the throne as the newest Mr. and Ms. SBA 2022. Meanwhile, Justine Lopez from the House of Clubs and Charisse Bea Estacio of the House of Hearts claimed the 1st runner-up. Sean Ponce and Farah Cathlyn Bucoy from the House of Spades were declared the 2nd runner-up.

Subsequently, minor events included a group quiz bee, poster competition, prepared speech contest, photography, and a lip sync battle between the professors.

As for the group quiz bee, Angelica D. Fugaban, Roxanne Marie S. Ingal, Brian Charles M. Barrera, Monica Isabel Nepomuceno Mapua, and Leanne Jean G. dela Peña from the House of Diamonds dominated the event.  The House of Clubs, which includes Carlos Miguel R. Macabali, Edgie M. Alimurung, Christian Rhic Q. Real, Prince Jastin Rey C. Bautista, and Kazel Ann C. Layug, claimed the first runner-up. And the House of Spades, including Khrt Zion G. Borlaza, Justin Charles P. Roque, Kian Onin C. Sebuguero, Kato D. Tetangco, and Jennalyn S. Tiglao, bagged the second runner-up.

Under the poster-making competition, Rhea Jane N. Conag from the House of Hearts secured the title, and Princess Hannah Mae L. Adaya from the House of Spades and Hannah Csyvanyh Bansil from the House of Diamonds landed as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.

Meanwhile, Godwin C. Pring of the House of Spades conquered the prepared speech competition. House of Diamonds representative Alfred P. Guillermo ranked as the 1st runner-up, and Sahria Tawacal of House of Hearts ranked as the 2nd runner-up.

For the photography competition, House of Clubs representative, Kristine D. Mungcal, bagged the title, followed by the House of Hearts, Willian D. Lagman Jr., and then House of Diamonds, Patrick James D. Torres.

Further, Prof. Ednel T. Datu triumphed in the Professors’ Lip Sync Battle. Prof. Christian Nicole A. Bansil and Prof. Carmelita Y. Lao hailed as first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the end, the House of Spades victoriously aced the SBA days and emerged as the overall champion. 

The House of Clubs was declared as the overall first runner-up, the House of Diamonds as second runner-up, and the House of Hearts took the third runner-up.
