In a report by the Philippine News Agency (PNA), the government is approaching the targeted 50 to 70 million Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) year-end quota, with 37.2M eligible to acquire their Philippine Identification (PhilID) Card.
Aside from the 50 to 70 million quota, Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua stated that their goal is to get 100-percent financial inclusion at the family level by year-end.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) regulated a three-step registration process; which includes demographic data collection that commences on a house-to-house basis or via online registration, collection of biometrics via their respective registration area, and the distribution of PhilSys Number and PhilID card.
As of July 2, 37.2 million independents have already completed the demographic data collection, with 16.2 million independents already through with the registration and biometrics stage. 343,742 individuals have already received their PhilID cards.
