Founded by two passionate coffee enthusiasts and professors from the Holy Angel University’s Management Department, this unique establishment welcomes customers with a wide variety of exquisite coffee flavors, a commitment to sustainability — and an atmosphere that offers an out-of-the-city experience. 

A Do-It-Yourself (DIY) journey awaits, connecting students through the art of coffee. Fi.Co Café has developed into a haven beyond the confines of a mere caffeine fix, offering a personalized experience for every customer.

Coffee Enthusiasts 

The café was established from the vision of two coffee enthusiasts, Professor Robin Santos and Mr. John Eric Herrera. Their experiences as master’s degree students, juggling studies and full-time work, led them to spend countless hours in coffee shops in various cities. 

Reliant on coffee to keep them going, the founders eventually ventured into the coffee industry by selling quality coffee beans online in 2018. Inspired by the struggles faced by today’s generation of students and recognizing the unique market in Angeles City, they set out to create a cozy haven where students could enjoy their coffee and unwind. 

Thereupon, owners aimed to foster an atmosphere where coffee aficionados could connect and savor the finest brews while pursuing their studies.

The Finest Coffee

Fi.Co café opens its doors in July 2023 and is available to all. As the name suggests, Fi.Co aims to serve the “finest coffee” experience through a menu of aesthetic beverages catering to an array of taste preferences. However, beneath this moniker lies an anagram for the word “coffee,” which corresponds to the brand’s product and logo.

Home for Students

Fi.Co goes beyond being just a coffee shop; it becomes a source of support and inspiration for the student community. Recognizing the bustling schedules of students, the café operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.— allowing customers to extend their stay and enjoy the cozy surroundings beyond the usual operating hours. 

This flexibility provides the perfect study spot and a place to unwind. As an educator in HAU’s Management Department, Professor Santos believes it is crucial to demonstrate aspects of management and business through the shop. The café serves as an operational example for management students, providing real-world business insights.

Signature Coffee

For those seeking a splash of flavors, Fi.Co Café offers a range of signature coffees crafted through extensive trials. The recommended must-tries are Spanish Latte, Salted Caramel, and Pure Matcha, each meticulously developed to meet the highest standards of taste. 

The coffee bar serves as an experimental area for baristas to create a variety of flavors, and the owners challenge them to create a “Flavor of the Week” for customers to enjoy.

From handcrafted cakes and biscuits too soon-to-be-introduced pasta dishes, the café’s culinary focus enhances the overall experience. The Caesar Salad is a must-try, and the café has plans to introduce delicious pasta dishes shortly. In a unique approach, the business also promotes the display of goods from student bakers, cultivating their entrepreneurial spirit and providing them with a platform to showcase their abilities.

The owners of Fi.Co have firsthand experience with the challenges faced by working students. They welcome those interested in working in the industry, including students seeking internships. The majority of the café’s current employees are working students. 

The owners aim to offer more than just part-time job opportunities; they provide an avenue for their employees to gain real-life work experience by involving them in all aspects of the business. From production, customer service, accounting, marketing, human resource, and many more, it ensures that student interns gain a well-rounded understanding of the business.
