SBA reconquers U-Days overall championship throne

The School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) reclaims the overall championship title during the University Days 2022 after the supposed four-year streak last year. This year’s celebration is in line with the theme “Magnifica: Lupon ng mga Dakila” and was held on March 1-12.

SBA bagged awards in academic cluster events and received titles in four out of five competitions, namely: BAGWIS: Pag-Usbong ng Mapagpalayang Diwa (Ted Talk Competition) with Khyrish Canlas claiming the ultimate victory; INTELIHENSIYA: Ultimate Battle of the Intellectuals, Brainiacs, and Omniscient with Jerico Dungca finishing as the first runner up; PAMIYATBATAN 3.0: Malayang Diskurso (Debate Competition) with SBA representatives receiving the championship title with special awards to Norieta Faith Riccia Chang as Best Speaker and Princess Yvan Malig as Best Debater; TUKLAS: Tagisan sa Pagitan ng mga Paham (Mass Quiz Bee) with Francis Dale Ayad winning as the first runner up, followed by Joshua Junsay as the second runner up.

For the non-academic cluster, SBA also held titles in four out of five events: SAPANTAHA: Tunggalian ng Barkada (Barkada Feud Competition) — SBA team wins Second Runner Up; PELIKUWELA: Parodyang Pagsasadula ng Pelikulang Pilipino (Movie Spoof Contest) — SBA lineup holding First Runner Up; MELODIYA: QuaranTINIG ng Angelites (Singing Contest) — Jewel Gem Cunanan achieves the First Runner Up; and ALPAS: Sumayaw, Sumunod sa Kapangyarihan ng Musika (HAUTAW ’22 Dance Contest) — Lerisse Herrera reaching First Runner Up.

Representatives from SBA also aced the MARAHUYO: Tagapagsulong ng Karangalan at Pagbabago – Mr. and Ms. Holy Angel University 2022, with Mr. Zeidan Ibrahim and Ms. Frenzel Annie Lapuz, who both stood as the titleholders of the competition.

Special Awards were given to Ms. Lapuz including the Best in Ramp, Best in Casual Wear, Best in Formal Wear, Ms. HAU Organizer’s Choice, and Ms. HAU 2022 People’s Choice Award. Meanwhile, Mr. Ibrahim received the Mr. HAU Congeniality Award, Mr. Milkwear, Best in Casual Wear, Best in Creative Wear, and Mr. HAU 2022 People’s Choice Award.

SBA also clinched one of the five Esports tournaments medals, placing 1st Runner Up for KALASAG: Lakad Matatag! Normalin!, the Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2 Tournament.

During the 2022 University Press Conference, the team from SBA’s official student publication, The Enterprise, was recognized as the overall second runner-up. Betina Aquino in Literary Writing, Angela Claudine Pineda in Feature Writing, and Mike Angelo Contreras in Sports Writing emerged as second placers. Christian Rhic Real bagged third place under the Science and Technology Writing Category.

The School of Engineering and Architecture (Angkan ni Panday) landed as the Overall first runner up, while the School of Education (Angkan ni Pagaspas) emerged second runner up.
