JPIAA-U dives in FTF General Assembly, ushers JAAns

The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants and Auditors – United (JPIAA-U), one of the student-based organizations of the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), stages its first face-to-face annual General Assembly after three years at San Francisco De Javier Nepomuceno (SFJ) building University Theater, today, September 6.

The event signified the organization’s federation year kickstart with the theme “Ascendo: Navigating the Waves of Times” in assembling its officers and members for the Academic Year 2023-2024.

SBA Dean Dr. Albert Morales delivered the opening remarks. Concurrently, Mr. Gian Carlo Catahum, alongside Ms. Mary Antonette Tadeo spoke an inspirational message and led the oath-taking for official membership later on.

After the first intermission number, the program presented its lineup of events for the upcoming Accountancy Week 2023 and body meeting.

Meanwhile, the institution formally introduced this federation’s year houses: Arctica, Atlantica, Indiana, and Pacifica. They also recognized each team’s respective Head Coordinators and Board of Directors.

The participating members partook in the event’s prepared games, raffle draws, and categorical awards.

“Gusto naming i-represent’ yung pagiging dolphins natin,” event head Jewel Gem Cunanan said in an interview about their idea in choosing the theme.

Cunanan also mentioned that they aim to bring back the traditional JPIAA-U with a mix of their modern practices as a student institution.

JPIAA-U’s President Reigne Costas concluded the event by stating her closing remarks.

The JPIAA-U is an institution specifically for the SBA community under the Accounting department.
