BSA stude clinches Top 25 REO Cup finish

Sean Garcia, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy student, represented Holy Angel University (HAU) in the REO Cup Regional Elimination Round and qualified as one of the Top 25 National Finalists at REO Pampanga on February 12, 2024.

The seven REO branches in Manila, Baguio, Dagupan, Pampanga, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan De Oro became the avenue of the regional eliminations.

In an online interview, Garcia shared his initial reaction to the results, highlighting his expectations during the competition. 

“I felt a bit shocked yet happy because I was not among the top 3 competitors at the REO Pampanga Branch. Hence, I did not expect that I would reach the top 25. Still, I was happy because of the results, and I look forward to representing HAU-SBA at the national level.” 

“From day one, we must already start preparing ourselves for the board exam. I believe that this mindset has helped me be more diligent in studying and, in turn, be prepared for these kinds of competitions,” Garcia added.

The REO Cup marked the first nationwide academic cup organized by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Review Center, with over 408 participants competing simultaneously at their respective REO branches.
