Angeles City – The Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO) and its local government commenced last Monday the implementation of Ordinance No. 609, Series of 2021, Article III Public Transportation Section 43, intending to improve the traffic flow inside the city by forbidding the Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) to enter the city’s main road.
The said order will be between 7 am and 9 pm, from Monday to Saturday. PUJs that operate outside the city’s limit are also covered by this ordinance, as announced in a post by the ACTDO last June.
The president of the Villa-Pampang-Telabastagan PUJ driver, Resty Dizon, said in an interview with iOrbitNews Online that they only complied with the local city government’s ordinance which restricted their route up to SM Telebastagan.
Southbound PUJs that travel outside the boundaries of Angeles City must now land passengers at SM Telabastagan. Passengers will be dropped off at the Bayanihan Park or SM Public Bus Terminal by Northbound PUJs. Meanwhile, the drop-off locations for Eastbound and Westbound PUJs will be the Marquee Public Transport Common Terminal and the area next to Sandra Mall.
