The Future of CSC-SBA: Enteng conducts MDA 2024

The School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), headed by The Enterprise, successfully conducted the Miting De Avance (MDA) 2024 for the aspiring leaders of the College Student Council (CSC-SBA) at the Holy Angel University Plaza San Jose last March 19.

All from Tindig Partylist, vying for the chairperson is Sophia Angela D. Componion, with her vice-chairperson Ashton Kalev P. Calma marked their presence available during this event. Alongside them are aspiring councilors Antoinette R. De Guzman, Ashley Joy T. De Guzman, Sophia Ruth C. Manuel, Aisen T. Salenga, and Harvey Eroll D.R. Sanchez.

The MDA has different segments to further test and know their platforms and sentiments through various issues.

The first division is the fast-talk segment—where candidates are blindfolded and asked close-ended questions. Thereby, future leaders answered by raising either the “yes” or “no” placards.

Following were the question and answer portions headed by two sets of panelists. The initial committee consisted of the Student Activities Coordinator, Mr. Paul Ernest Carreon, the Chairperson of Accountancy, Mr. Ednel T. Datu, and The Enterprise’s Faculty Adviser, Mr. Louis Philippe Simbulan.

Concurrently, another round of examination of the candidates was the forum segment, in which the aspirant leaders chose a number to which there was an attached corresponding question. Yvan Princess Malig and Excel John Esguerra, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of HAU Debate Congress (HAUDC), respectively, audited the answers of the candidates.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the SBA institutions, Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants and Auditors President Reign Christine Costas, Management Society’s President Jared Manio, and The Enterprise’s Editor-in-Chief Fredelyn Salunga, presided as the second set of panelists in the question and answer segment.

The event also opened the doors for its live audience, with the prospective candidates entertaining questions from the student body of SBA.

The Miting De Avance is a yearly event hosted by HAU’s official student publications to test and present the aspiring student leaders of the departments and student body.
