SJA 2023 names ENTENG as Best Publication

The Enterprise, the official student publication of the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), bagged the Best Publication and different awards during the Student Journalism Awards (SJA) 2023, headed by the People’s Pen Organization, today, October 13, in St. Michael Hall at the SJN Formation Center.

Mr. Paul Ernest D. Carreon, Office of the Student Affairs (OSA) Student Activities Coordinator, led the opening prayer to start the program. Meanwhile, Ms. Irin Ann G. Castro, Director of the OSA, graced the event with her opening remarks.

The awarding ceremony recognizes the topnotchers for the Editorial Board Examination and the winners for the different publications’ sections.

For the EdBoard exam, Fredelyn Salunga placed 3rd in Feature Writing, 9th placer in Essay Writing, and 8th placer in Overall Ranking.

Dhessiel Heart Macapagal ranked 3rd in News Writing, and Beatrice Eleoner Zepeda placed 6th in Literary.

Concurrently, for the various publications releases, Triesha Mae Galang and Emmelea Nacpil were named as 2nd runner up in Humor and Comic; Angela Claudine Pineda as 1st runner up with her Features article; and Beatrice Zepeda and Dhessiel Heart Macapagal as champion in Literary and News category, respectively.

Christian Aviv Cruz became the champion for Photojournalism, and Dhessiel Heart Macapagal was her 1st runner-up.

Under Editorial Cartooning, Triesha Mae Galang got the champion and 1st runner-up for both of her entries.

Meanwhile, The Enterprise bagged the champion and 1st runner for the Editorial Category and 1st runner-up in Best Page Presentation.

For the Best Publication, SJA named The Enterprise Champion, followed by The Angelite as the 1st runner up, and The Solution as the 2nd runner up.

To conclude the event, Betina Aquino, VP for Internal of PEPA 2023, spoke for the closing remarks.

The SJA event aims to recognize the student journalists and publications at Holy Angel University.
