Five management students from the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) participated in the 11th National Business and Management Conference (NBMC) 2023, organized by the Philippine Academy of Management (PAoM) and held via Zoom from November 24 to 25.
Together with NBMC, De La Salle University (DLSU) and Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) hosted the online event following the theme, “Intersecting AI Business and Sustainable Goals.”
The research team consisted of Gwy Anne Manalo as the leader, and its members included Andrei Nicole Nalo, Elydia Banal, Guian Carlo Navarro, and Ashley Rivera.
The team presented an undergraduate thesis with a topic and variables adapted from research in Malaysia entitled “Links Among Social Media Marketing, Select Marketing Constructs, and Conative Brand Loyalty: Focus on Philippines Cosmetic Industry.”
After the presentation, the panel applauded the students for their well-written research. It commended the students on how they came up with and selected their topic, given the strict competition in their chosen research variables.
According to Ms. Joy Anne Evaristo, their research adviser, the team participated during the second day, where most of the presenters were Masters and Doctoral students from DLSU and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), with only a few undergraduate students, including the Holy Angel University – SBA (HAU-SBA) representatives.
“We have a lot of talented students, and we are just happy that there are these opportunities to make our students feel that they could, given the platform, actually showcase their talents and show other leading universities that they are at par with their students,” Ms. Evaristo stated in an online interview regarding the HAU’s participation on the conference.
NBMC is an annual nationwide occurrence in business research instituted by PAoM, a non-profit and non-stock scholarly association based in Manila. Its purpose is to serve as a platform for advancing the field of management scholarship in the Philippines.
