Embers of Ardor

In the hush of midnight, the silence echoes,

An early riser, ends up with the shadows.

I’m a dazzle in fire, breathing of hopes and dreams,

In a crackle, silent screams bursting at the seams.

Rose-tinted visions fade as tasks pile high,

Papers weighted on my shoulders makes me sigh.

A runner from time with things I cannot control,

Faltering deadlines, under pressure takes its toll.

Each goal reached seems far, like a distant star,

Facing a steep battle, a lingering scar.

Burning flame I once carried now seems to dwindle.

All roses covered within, I refuse to settle.

In gusts of restless nights, the embers still light.

Let knowledge beam the exams with might.

Exhausted but unextinguished, keep the flame doze,

For beneath the ashes, a hidden warmth still glows.

As the semester wanes, we’ll rise anew to ignite;

Fuel the fading fire, and let ardor burn bright.
