CSC-SBA gives Freshies a ‘Head Start to College’

The College Student Council: School of Business and Accountancy (CSC-SBA) held their second One Night Stunned (ONS), a virtual welcome party for incoming first-year students of the Academic Year 2022- 2023, yesterday, July 13, via Zoom.

Lian Ramos, Councilor for Non-Academic Affairs, and Akeya Manaloto, Councilor for Finance, expounded that the purpose of it is to let the incoming SBA students know more about how the department works and the people behind it while engaging with the participants through informative talks and interactive games. Ramos and Manaloto were the main head of the said affair.

Former CSC-SBA Chairperson, Marie Elizabeth Sagum and former CSC-SBA Councilor for External Affairs, Angelica Mae Nailes highlighted what to expect as a first-time college student and shared some of their “College Survival Tips,” as they served as the main speakers.

The activity was executed virtually since an in-person first-year orientation and Organizations Festival was already scheduled, making this a kickstart and teaser for the orientation proper.

Different organizations and publication under SBA were also presented in the program. The council encouraged the students to participate in extracurricular activities ؙ— honing their creative and social skills despite the online classes.

When asked how it is different from the previous year, Ramos quipped that the council was able to have better preparations, using last year’s ONS as their guide in making the event a success.

With a total of 225 registrants, 200 students were able to attend and participate in the main act. Moreover, the audience took part in the question-and-answer session.

Through the post-evaluations, attendees expressed their appreciation by acknowledging the CSC-SBA’s effort in delivering a well-planned and entertaining activity.
